Responsible AI at The Faith Vault

The Faith Vault uses artificial intelligence to help people understand, read, and create around the world's faith traditions. That is a responsibility we take seriously. These are our commitments.

  1. 01

    We show our sources.

Answers in the Scripture Guide identify the passages and traditions they draw from, and link to the text so you can read it in full. If we cannot point to a source, we say so.

  2. 02

We let each tradition speak for itself.

We describe what a tradition teaches in its own terms. We do not rank traditions, merge them into a single “answer”, or suggest one is more correct than another.

  3. 03

We are a study companion, not an authority.

The Faith Vault is educational. It does not replace clergy, teachers, community, or your own reading and prayer. For questions of practice, ritual, or personal guidance, please consult the leaders of your tradition.

  4. 04

We are honest about AI's limits.

AI systems can misquote, oversimplify, or be confidently wrong. Where scholars disagree, or a question depends on interpretation, we aim to say so rather than pick a side.

  5. 05

We respect that interpretation is human.

Every tradition contains multiple schools and living debates. Our tools summarize; they do not settle.

  6. 06

    We protect sacred text.

Divine Reader presents established translations and editions. We do not use AI to rewrite scripture.

  7. 07

    We disclose AI-made music.

Songs in Religion Relief are created with AI from your words and choices, and are labeled as such.

  8. 08

We do not profile your beliefs.

We do not sell data about your religious interests, and we do not use your questions to target advertising.

Where you will see this in practice

  • Beneath every Scripture Guide answer: AI-generated summary. Read the source passages above and consult your tradition's teachers for guidance.
  • On every Religion Relief song: Created with AI from your words.
  • On every Divine Reader text: the edition or translation name and year.
